Taking the Georgia Licensing Exam

Register with Pearson VUE online at pearsonvue.com/ga/insurance or by calling 800-274-0488. Create a web account in your legal name exactly as it appears on your ID. You can book up to one day before your preferred date, subject to seat availability at the test center you choose.

Bring two current forms of signature ID. The first must be government-issued with your photo and signature, such as a driver’s license, passport or military ID. The second must show your signature, such as a debit card or Social Security card. Both names must exactly match your registration.

Each attempt costs $67, paid to Pearson VUE when you book. Every attempt is a separate reservation with a separate fee. Fees are non-refundable unless you change or cancel at least 48 hours ahead under Pearson VUE’s policy, so pick a date you can keep.

Single-line exams such as Life, Accident & Sickness, Property, Casualty, Personal Lines and Adjuster last two hours. The combined Life/Accident & Sickness and Property & Casualty exams last two and a half hours. Every Georgia insurance exam needs 70% to pass, and you see your result before leaving.

Wait 14 days before retesting after your first or second attempt, and 60 days after your third and later attempts. There is no limit on attempts, but each one costs $67. Students who qualify for the RS Thomas pass guarantee can retake the same course free within 90 days.
